Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how THE ARCHITECTURE WITHIN uses Cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice, which explains more broadly how we Process Personal Data and describes your rights.
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this Cookie Policy, the following terms have the meaning set out below.
Controllermeans THE ARCHITECTURE WITHIN S.R.L., a Romanian company, with its registered office at Bucharest, 122 Mihai Bravu Road, Building D27, 1st Entrance, 2nd Floor, Apartment 6, 2nd District, Romania, registered with the Trade Registry under no. J2026052769003, having tax identification number 55529344 (“Controller”, “we”, “our” or “us”), operating THE ARCHITECTURE WITHIN (“TAW”) at thearchitecturewithin.com(the “Platform”).
Cookie means a small text file that is placed and stored on your device when you visit the Platform, and which allows the Platform to recognize your device on subsequent visits.
Session Cookie means a Cookie that is stored only in temporary memory and is automatically deleted when you close your browser. Session Cookies do not collect information from your device and typically store only a session identifier that does not, on its own, identify you.
Persistent Cookie means a Cookie that remains stored on your device after you close your browser, for the period set out in Section 3, so that the Platform can recognize your device on your next visit.
First-Party Cookie means a Cookie placed directly by the Platform.
Third-Party Cookie means a Cookie placed by a party other than the Platform, such as an analytics or advertising provider.
Personal Data, Processing, Data Subject, Consent and Supervisory Authority have the meanings given to them in our Privacy Notice.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies allow the Platform to recognize your device, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the Platform. A Cookie may be a Session Cookie or a Persistent Cookie, and may be placed by us as a First-Party Cookie or by a third party as a Third-Party Cookie.
In this Policy, “Cookies” also covers similar technologies, such as pixels, web beacons and local storage, which work in a comparable way.
Some information collected through Cookies — such as an IP address or a device identifier — may constitute Personal Data. Where this is the case, our Privacy Notice explains how we Process it and describes your rights.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of Cookies. Strictly Necessary Cookies do not require your consent, as they are essential for the Platform to function. All other categories are placed only with your consent, given through our cookie consent tool, which you can withdraw at any time as set out in Section 4.
| Category | Provider | Cookie / Storage Key | Type | Purpose | Retention Period |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | The Controller (first-party) | taw:<your account id>:analytics-consent | Persistent | Stores whether you accepted or declined analytics, so your choice can be remembered and applied for your account. | Until sign-out |
| Strictly Necessary | Firebase Authentication (third-party) | firebase:authUser | Persistent | Stores your sign-in session so you remain authenticated when you open other pages of the Platform. | Until sign-out |
| Preferences | The Controller (first-party) | taw_locale | Persistent (cookie) | Remembers the language you chose, so the Platform opens in that language next time. | 12 months |
| Preferences | The Controller (first-party) | taw:<your account id>:… (assessment) | Persistent | Stores your assessment progress, including the draft, answers entered so far and your current position, so you do not lose your place if you close the tab before submitting. | Until submission or sign-out |
| Preferences | The Controller (first-party) | taw-android-banner-dismissed | Persistent | Remembers that you dismissed the “get the Android app” banner so it is not shown again. | Until browser storage is cleared |
| Preferences | The Controller (first-party) | taw.dashboard.discover-feed.v1 | Session | Stores the discovery results currently displayed so returning to the dashboard does not reshuffle the list. | Until the tab is closed |
| Preferences | The Controller (first-party) | taw_user_names | Session | Stores display names of people already shown to you so the same names are not requested repeatedly. | Until the tab is closed |
| Statistics | Google Analytics (third-party) | _ga, _ga_<id> | Persistent | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can measure, on an aggregated basis, which parts of the Platform are used. These cookies are set only if you consent to analytics. | Up to 24 months |
| Marketing | Meta Platforms, Inc. (third-party) | _fbp, _fbc | Persistent | Meta Pixel: helps us measure whether an advertisement you saw on Meta’s platforms (Facebook or Instagram) led you to sign up, so we can understand whether our advertising is effective. These cookies are set only if you consent to marketing. Meta Platforms, Inc. may Process the resulting information outside the EEA; see the International Transfers section of our Privacy Notice. | Up to 90 days |
| Marketing | TikTok (third-party) | _ttp | Persistent | TikTok Pixel: helps us measure whether an advertisement you saw on TikTok led you to sign up, so we can understand whether our advertising is effective. These cookies are set only if you consent to marketing. TikTok may Process the resulting information outside the EEA; see the International Transfers section of our Privacy Notice. | Up to 13 months |
Where a Cookie is placed by a third party, that third party may Process the information collected outside the EEA. Please see the International Transfers section of our Privacy Notice for more information.
4. Consent and Managing Your Preferences
When you first visit the Platform, we ask for your consent before placing any Cookies other than Strictly Necessary Cookies, through our cookie consent tool. You can accept or decline each category, and change your choice at any time reopening the cookie consent tool via the “Cookie Settings”button available in the Platform’s footer.
You can also control or delete Cookies through your browser settings. Because this applies to all websites you visit, and not just the Platform, we recommend using your browser’s own help pages to find out more.
For general information about Cookies, you can also visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org.
Please note that if you disable certain Cookies, some features of the Platform may not work as intended.
5. Your Rights
Where Cookies involve the Processing of your Personal Data, you have the rights described in our Privacy Notice, including the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can exercise these rights, or ask us any question about this Cookie Policy, by contacting us at admin@thearchitecturewithin.com.
